According to the sociological service, the proportion of Russians who are satisfied with their living conditions has risen to 72% (41% answered “quite satisfied”, and another 31% said “rather satisfied”). For 13 years, this figure rose by one third (in 2005, the level of satisfaction was 48%). At the same time, among young people between the ages of 18 and 24, the proportion satisfied with living conditions reaches 84%, while among 25-34-year-olds - 61%.
The main reasons for dissatisfaction with their living conditions, Russians, are the high costs of paying for housing and utilities (40%) and the lack of residential land (39%). Also, discontent is caused by the poor quality of housing and communal services (18%), the authors of the study note. Moreover, among residents of villages and million-plus cities this share is higher - 33% and 24%, respectively.
In addition, 16% of respondents are not satisfied with housing conditions due to the lack of their own real estate - this figure has hardly changed since 2007.For 14% of survey participants, the reasons for outrage are disrepair and the emergency state of housing, 12% called housing insufficiently comfortable and convenient.
23% of the participants said that in the next five years they are going to purchase new housing - since 2007, the share of such respondents has grown by 7 percentage points. Most of all who want to change their living conditions among young people from 18 to 24 years old - 44%, among those who are between 25 and 34 years old, there are 38%.
In order to improve their living conditions, the respondents first of all plan to take a mortgage loan. There are 44% of them now, for 11 years their number has doubled (in 2007 it was 22%). Only every third (34%) respondent is going to use their own funds. 24% of our fellow citizens are thinking of selling the available real estate to buy a new home. Every tenth respondent (9%) will count on financial assistance from parents and friends, as many respondents believe that they will take a consumer loan.
An initiative nationwide survey was conducted on August 9, 2018. The survey method is a telephone interview based on a random sample of 1600 respondents. Data are weighted by probability of selection and by socio-demographic parameters. For this sample, the maximum size of the error with a probability of 95% does not exceed 2.5%.
Earlier, the Pension Fund of Russia reported that over the six months of 2018, Russians spent 134.3 billion rubles to improve housing conditions, received from the funds of the parent capital. In the first half of the year, the FIU satisfied 322.1 thousand of such complaints.
“One third of families purchased new housing for these funds, sent them for construction and compensated for the costs of previously built housing. Two thirds of families used maternity capital to repay loans and borrowings, including paying the first installment and loan payments,” the press service said. FIU.
