Turkey Shin: Cooking Recipes

Turkey drumstick steaks with vegetable garnish
- three tomatoes;
- 1 kg shins;

Do you want to please your husband and children with a fragrant meat dish? Then make a turkey drumstick steak for each one. The recipe offered by us does not require a large investment of time and products:
- Peel the onions and carrots. We thoroughly wash the shins.
- In a deep frying pan, pour a little oil, spread the meat. You can salt it a little bit. Cover the pan with a lid. Fry the steaks for 30 minutes, setting a slow fire. Meat must be periodically turned over to one side, then to another.
- While the turkey is stewing, let's do the processing of vegetables. Grind the cleaned carrots using a grater. The result should be long and thin strips. Cut the tomatoes into half rings. Dill and green onions need to chop. In a separate bowl pour 2-3 tbsp. l dry roots. Another important ingredient is onions. Just cut it into strips.
- Half an hour after the start of stewing, you can add dry roots to the pan. We notice another 10-15 minutes. Excess juice should evaporate. Then the spices are used (bay leaf, a mixture of different varieties of pepper, a little ground paprika and turmeric).
- When there is very little juice left in the pan, you need to start laying the chopped vegetables. Squeeze some mayonnaise for each steak. We spread onions and carrots. Sprinkle with your favorite spices. For each piece of meat put on a bay leaf. All the "construction" close the tomatoes. Making a grid of mayonnaise. Sprinkle with chopped greens. Cover the pan with a lid. Simmer all these ingredients for 30 minutes by setting the minimum heat. No need to mix and turn over. In half an hour the dish will be ready to eat.On each plate, lay out a vegetable side dish and turkey leg. The recipes described below are also suitable for preparing a family lunch or dinner.
Baked turkey drumstick
Ingredients (per 2 servings):
- garlic - 2 cloves;
- 1 kg turkey drumsticks;
- 2 tbsp. l ground mustard;
- 1 tsp vegetable oils.
Turkey drumstick recipe in the oven:
- We wash the legs in cold water, let the liquid drain.
- We proceed to the preparation of the marinade. To do this, peel the garlic, cut into thin slices and put in a deep bowl. We also send mustard, herbs and salt. Mixing ingredients. It should be a homogeneous mass. Cover the legs with marinade from all sides.
- Lubricate the bottom of the baking dish with oil. Spread turkey drumstick. The recipes of this dish are different. Some suggest the use of foil, others - not. Want to make the meat more juicy? Then put the foil on the bottom of the mold, and then lubricate with oil. Pour the marinade remains over the meat. Close the form with a sheet of foil, put it in the fridge for 6-8 hours.
- We take out shins about 60 minutes before the start of cooking. Preheat oven to 180 degrees.We place in it a form with meat for 1 hour, having established average fire.
- After the specified time, it is necessary to remove the mold from the oven and remove the foil located above. Pour the legs with the juice that is exuded during their preparation. Then again send the form to the oven. We notice 30 minutes. Another 2 times we pour turkey leg juice. Pour the finished dish with the remnants of the sauce and decorate with chopped greens. Spread the legs on the plates. As a side dish, you can use mashed potatoes, vegetable stew, boiled buckwheat and rice.
Turkey Shin Soup
- ½ cup barley;
- three tomatoes;
- 800 g turkey drumsticks;
- potatoes - 3 pieces;
- one medium onion;
- some vegetable oil.
- We wash the meat, put it in a deep pan with water and put it on the stove. As soon as the liquid boils, reduce the heat to medium. The broth is prepared 2-2.5 hours. Be sure to remove the foam. Around the middle of the process, you can add chopped onions. It is better to do so. Toss one part of the onion into the broth, and use the other to cook the roast.
- Barley 2-3 times washed in running water. Then soak for 10 minutes.
- Well washed tomatoes cut into cubes. Shipped in a pan and simmer with onions in butter.
- Remove the peel from the potatoes. Cut the flesh into cubes and throw them into the broth. We get the turkey. Remove unnecessary bones, cut the meat into pieces and put it back into the soup. At the same time, you can add barley.
- Greens should be washed and chopped. We check the potatoes: if it has become crumbly, then it’s time to put the rest of the ingredients (greens, roasting) in the broth. Our rich and flavorful soup with barley and turkey is ready to eat. We spill it on plates and treat households.
Roasted Turkey Leg
What else can you cook using turkey drumstick? The recipes described above take 1-2 hours. However, an aromatic meat dish can be cooked faster. We offer you a very simple recipe.
- First you need to wash the meat and dry it with paper napkins.
- We proceed to the preparation of the sauce. Take a bowl, mix in it soy sauce, chopped garlic, vinegar, oil and spices.
- We rub the shins from all sides with the resulting marinade. Leave for 1 hour.
- Heat a deep frying pan, lay out the meat and fry in butter.Each side is 2 minutes. Pour in some water, reduce the heat to the minimum and fry the turkey until ready. The dish is served with a side dish (mashed potatoes, rice, buckwheat) and fresh vegetables.
