Igor Kolyvanov: the history of the best goalscorer of the USSR
Kolyvanov Igor Vladimirovich is a professional football player of the end of the last century, who played for Dynamo Moscow, as well as Italian clubs Foggia and Bologna. Served from 1985 to 2001 as an attacker. He had a biting and powerful blow, thanks to which in his youth among teammates he got the playful nickname “Kalashnikov”. During the career of a football player, he managed to be noted at the gates of rivals more than a hundred times, thanks to which he is an honorary member of the club Grigori Fedotov.
Igor Kolyvanov, like thousands of other Soviet boys, loved football and could disappear all day on the sports field. Starting at the age of nine, he played for various youth teams in the city of Moscow. After one of the matches, the representatives of Spartak paid attention to the guy, after which the attacker found himself in the back-up squad of the capital. However, a player named Igor Kolyvanov was not destined to appear in the “people's team”.The statistics of his performances for the “red-white” is reduced to zero. The footballer quickly realized that in Spartak it would be incredibly difficult to break into the main team and he was assigned the role of a substitute player, so in 1986 Kolyvanov accepted the offer of the capital Dynamo.
At the time of the transition to the camp of the “blue-white” Igor Kolyvanov had already been called up to the youth national team of Russia, in which he won the European Championship in 1990 and the title of top scorer. In total, the striker has managed to distinguish himself by effective action nine times.
The following year, the young forward began collecting awards in the USSR Championship. In the last All-Union campaign, he became the best striker and at the same time the best football player of the competition.
Moving to Italy
The success of the football player did not go unnoticed even beyond the boundless homeland. Especially very soon the USSR collapsed, there was good demand for the players of the former championship, because they could be signed for free. In the case of Kolyvanov, the Italian Foggia was the fastest. The team of Serie A invited the footballer to play in the position of the attacking midfielder.Kolyvanov did not have to think long, because the Italian Championship was one of the strongest in Europe, and his former teammate in Spartak and namesake Igor Shalimov already played in addition to everything in Foggia.
Igor Kolyvanov spent four seasons for “devils”, speaking alternately in series A and B. Subsequently, he was selected as team captain. Everything went to the fact that Kolyvanov, who was in an ideal football age, was ready to move into a “big” club. However, fate decreed otherwise, and in 1994 the attacker was seriously injured in a match for the Russian national team. Back on the field, he could only a year later.
In 1996 in the Italian Serie A came Bologna. The novice team offered the contract for a period of three years to the Russian legionnaire, and in the very first season he justified the money invested by the “Rosso-blue”, becoming the best sniper in the club.
In the late nineties, Kolyvanov increasingly had health problems. Francesco Guidolin trusted the other players in the attack, however, he was in no hurry to part with the experienced striker. The player himself has repeatedly expressed a desire to go on loan, however, these options for continuing a career remained unfulfilled. In 2001, Igor Kolyvanov (a football player never recovered from the injuries pursuing him) ended his playing career.
From 2003 to 2010, Igor Vladimirovich led the youth team of Russia, with which he triumphed at the 2006 European Championships.
Since 2012, Igor Kolyvanov has been appointed the head coach of the football team of the National League of FC “Ufa”. Following the results of the first season, Kolyvanov’s team rose to sixth place, and after the 2013–2014 championship, the Ufa team joined the ranks of the Premier League clubs, beating Tom in the butt matches.
Igor Kolyvanov Tournament
The Cup is played annually in January, and the last tournament in 2017 was the ninth in a row. The competition is held with the support of the ex-football player himself and the Moscow “Center for Sports and Education”. The tournament accepts children's teams from Russia and Belarus.
Incident in the team
Igor Kolyvanov was among those football players who, on the eve of the 1994 World Cup, expressed distrust in the current team coach Sadyrin PF. Individual football players of the national team wrote a letter addressed to the Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation on Physical Culture and Sport. In addition to Kolyvanov, the document was signed by such famous football players as Sergei Yuran, Igor Shalimov, Viktor Onopko, Alexander Mostovoi, Oleg Salenko and others. Subsequently, some of the apostates refused to sign, and in the team itself, fragmentation and lack of spirit reigned. As a result, the result of the performances of the Russian squad at the World Championship was a failure, and many players of that generation missed their last opportunity to play at a major international tournament. At the same time, there is a hypothesis that the “Letter of Fourteen” helped to solve many important problems faced by athletes of the late nineties.
